Hiring a new employee for your immigration law firm can seem daunting at first, especially if you don’t have a set training plan in place.

Our recommendation to our clients when we are helping them through their hiring process is to create a training schedule that has the first 6 to 10 days of work all planned out for the new employee.

Having a mapped out training plan in place will help you structure what and when the new employees are learning about their role in the firm, and be ready to take on their full responsibilities in a certain amount of time.

In addition to this, it will also help your new employee more easily navigate through their first few days at your firm and easy any nerves, especially if this is their first job in the immigration field.

Depending on what type of role you are hiring for, or if you are hiring for multiple roles in the firm, it’s important to have general training, as well as specific role training, seeing as a paralegal would have different responsibilities than an intake specialist, per say.

We always recommend having a simple “General Immigration” training, including things like immigration vocabulary, government agencies, and specific firm details, and other specialized training for each role.

And if you need any help with setting up your training plan, Immigration Finder is always here to lend you a hand.
